As I walk around outside,
I feel that I might cry,
‘cause I’m
Surrounded by,
An awful lot of
Nouns, of every shape and size,
color, width, and height
In the darkness and the light
There’s just too many
Nouns, there’s far too many nouns,
With nouns this world abounds
With nouns this world resounds,
I fear I’m going
Down from the weight of all these nouns,
There’s far too many nouns
In cities and in towns,
And in the country that
Surrounds these cities and these towns,
In the air they fly around
In the earth they burrow down
Or else pile up in
Mounds, in tremendously large
Mounds, they’re Babel-tower mounds
But the thing about these mounds?
By no means are they
Bound, to the earth, they’re found
In the Solar System, found
In the Milky Way, found
In the galaxies
Surround-ing us, they’re filled with nouns,
They’re bristling with nouns
You could plotz from all the nouns,
Some are new, and some have ancient
Crowns, there’s far too many nouns
Making far too many sounds,
You can’t sleep with all the sounds
Their sheer numbers do
Confound, I fear that I might drown,
It’s probable l’ll drown,
Even odds that I’m going to drown
Pulled down by all the
Nouns, that like to swim around
They really get around
They really make the rounds
There’s far too many nouns
The trouble with nouns is: there’s just too many nouns
